With a strong passion for languages, travel and history I followed my heart and studied French, English and History to degree level in Germany and France, finishing with the First State Examination for Teachers (1. Staatsexamen). Before I could move into teaching I got offered a job as a researcher on history documentaries in a German film production company, and went on to manage and write for major history series for five years.

After moving to the UK in 2005, I set up as a full-time translator and researcher. In 2008 I took the Diploma in Translation (DipTrans IoLET) and in 2014 became a qualified member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. I'm a member of both UK professional bodies, the ITI and the CIOL, and a Chartered Linguist.
